Find Your Farmers Market
April 30, 2021Public health restrictions have ramped up again, hitting the restaurant industry hard by temporarily banning indoor dining. It’s important to obey these restrictions, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still support local restaurants. Many West Kelowna places have delivery, takeout, or patio dining.
Here are seven restaurants for you to try out during this “circuit-breaker” lockdown.
1. Lost Horn Mediterranean Grill
If you like Mediterranean food, this is definitely the place for you. They’ve revised their menu for take out and ordering is available online. The restaurant is offering small plates (warm olives and bread, pita and tzatziki, Greek salad, hummus and more), main course plates (roasted lamb, gyros, shawarma, falafel, and more), and a couple of dessert options to really treat yourself. Visit losthorn.com for the full menu and hours.
2. Sammy J’s Bar and Grill
Not only does Sammy J’s have a patio open for in-person dining, they also offer family size take-out platters so dinner for the whole family is taken care of. They offer a variety of pub-style fare, as well as quality steaks, fresh pastas, and thin crust pizza. They also offer vegetarian and gluten-free menu options, so there really is something for everyone. Visit sammyjs.ca for their full menu and operating hours.
3. The Modest Butcher Kitchen and Market
Who wouldn’t want a jar of bacon on the patio? The Modest Butcher is offering a limited menu for both take out and in person patio dining. If the pint ‘o bacon doesn’t pique your interest, they’re also offering salads, burgers, sandwiches, and three types of steak with duck fat potatoes and charred broccoli. Modest, indeed. Visit modestbutcher.com for the full menu and operating hours.
4. Frind Estate Winery
If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to eat in your own private dome, now’s your chance. Dining in the Dome, normally a winter experience, offers an elegant meal for up to six guests in their own personal dome. Dinner includes a starter, salad, main, and dessert. They’re also offering the domes for Sunday brunch, which is a great way to wrap up the weekend. Visit frindwinery.com for reservations.
5. Pizzamor’eh
This isn’t your typical 3am pizza place. Pizzamor’eh strives to make quality pizza that doesn’t make you feel logy by using fresh local and organic ingredients. Their patio is open for in-person dining and their menu has all your favourite pizza flavours, as well as vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. They even offer their pizzas frozen, so you can take and bake your pizza at home. Visit pizzamoreh.ca for their full menu and operating hours.
