August 21, 2019Best Places For Treats And Desserts In West Kelowna
October 16, 2019While everyone knows the classic Halloween activities like carving out pumpkins, getting dressed-up in costumes, and trick-or-treating, there’s still plenty more to do in Kelowna. Not only are there a variety of awesome activities for both kids and parents, there’s also plenty of fun options for adults too. Here are a few of the best activities to participate in this Halloween.
Pumpkin Picking
One of the best parts of Halloween is picking out your pumpkin, so don’t sort through a bin for yours, head to some of the local farms in the Okanagan. McMillan Farms is a popular choice for many—their huge field is massive enough you’re sure to find the perfect pumpkin for carving or eating! You can also enjoy even more great fall activities at Davidson Orchard’s Family Pumpkin Fest (including picking your pumpkin). Plus, while you’re there, check out the Crazy Cow Corral, try a pumpkin steamer or spiced apple cider, and meet some of the other farm animals as you tour the property.
Have a Monstrously Good Time at a Downtown Party
Kelowna knows how to party when it comes to Halloween—there are a variety of downtown locations that hold costume contests, have special Halloween-themed food and drinks, and more! Of particular note are these places in the downtown core that have held some awesome events on Halloween: BNA, Rotary Centre for the Arts, Hotel Eldorado, The Habitat, and CRAFT Beer Market. However, those likely aren’t the only places with parties or event going on, check out Tourism Kelowna’s event page for all the other parties you can also head to.
Check Out Some Creepy Corn Mazes
Looking to get spooked or want to complete a maze in real life? Corn mazes are just the thing to try out then! In addition to all the fun October events at McMillan Farms, they also set up a corn maze each year. In addition, Kelowna Corn Maze, set up by a local farmer, is also a popular attraction for both kids and adults alike. However, if you’re looking for something more thrilling and intense then you’ll want to head to the Historic O’Keefe Ranch for their themed “Field of Screams” corn maze. They’ve done a variety of themes over the years from a creepy carnival to Dante’s Inferno. You should absolutely look into it if you want to be scared.
There’s plenty of activities around the city for everyone of all ages to enjoy and get into the Halloween spirit. Of course, if you still prefer trick-or-treating there’s still a lot of fun to be had in that too. Just make sure to brush your teeth after all the candy you eat or you’ll receive a scary trip to the dentist when the bill comes up.
